Stephanie Wunderle

Triathlon

German athlete Stephanie Wunderle began her triathlon journey in her youth, driven by her love of the sport and joy in competition. Stephanie rose to prominence as an age-grouper at the European Championships in Munich in 2022, winning the sprint distance. Two weeks later, she competed in the 70.3 Ironman in Zell am See, winning that as well and securing a slot for the 2023 Ironman World Championship in Lahti, Finland. In 2023 she again took on back-to-back races, competing in both the Sprint World Championship in Hamburg and the Ironman World Championship in Lahti, which were only six weeks apart. She secured 2nd place in the individual event in Hamburg and 1st place in the relay, then went on to win the World Champion title in her age group in Finland. Guided by coach Torsten Abel, Stephanie is now aiming for her professional debut in 2024. She plans to launch her professional career at the Ironman Pro Series European Championship in Hamburg – also her first entry in the long-course category. Balancing the demands of triathlon with three children and a part-time teaching career, Stephanie has found innovative ways to integrate training into her daily routines, and aims to prove that it's possible to achieve top performances alongside the demands of family and career.
