Katrine Græsbøll Christensen

Katrine Græsbøll Christensen's journey in triathlon is marked by determination and continuous achievement. In 2021, on a whim, she competed in her first triathlon with her husband, even borrowing a bike for the race. Little did she know that this decision would spark a passion that would redefine her athletic career.

Within a month, Katrine became the Danish middle-distance champion in her age group, a testament to her natural talent and motivation. As a former member of the national kayak team, she instantly took to the triathlon lifestyle, embracing the journey of physical and mental challenges.

A pivotal moment came at Challenge Roth 2023, where Katrine competed in her first full-distance triathlon. Crossing the finish line in an impressive 8 hours and 57 minutes, she secured 6th place in the pro field. Katrine also claimed an impressive 3rd place at the European Long Distance Championships in Almere, with a time of 8 hours and 43 minutes.

Her goals for the 2024 season include a focus on improving her swim and pushing harder on the bike, while maintaining her running prowess. Her ultimate goal is to qualify for the Ironman World Championships in Nice.

Beyond the racecourse, Katrine is a biomedical engineer and a sleep researcher at Aarhus University. She balances her athletic pursuits with the joy of spending time with her daughter Nora and partner Steffen.
